HLA FISHING AND FISH MANAGEMENT PAGE

Attention:  Horsehead/John Brown Lake Property Owners

Do you want more Walleyes planted in Horsehead and the John Brown Lakes ?

With the contributions from the Horsehead Lake Association, land and cottage owners, we were able to plant 2,671 Walleye (6 to 8 inches long) last fall - 2009.

Our focus for 2010 is another Walleye planting.  The DNR has informed me that they will not be stocking the 22,000+ Walleye fingerlings again this year, 2010, so it is up to us to keep this going forward.  Donations for the fall stocking are needed.  Please encourage friends & neighbors to donate so that we can have another successful planting of fish this fall.

We still have the bank account for the Horsehead Lake Fish Fund for all donations that are collected.  The more money that is collected, the more fish we will be able to purchase.  We are hoping to raise enough to stock a minimum of 3,000+ 6 to 8   inch Walleye at a cost of about $6,000.

Donations can be mailed to the address below or dropped off at the Uschuk cottage, (when someone is there,) located at 8386 Hellskettle Court , (the tan cottage at the point between Horsehead and Little John Brown.)  (231) 972-2101
